Stephen Cavanagh

Steve Cavanagh has been practising law in Ottawa for over 30 years. He was a partner in two Ottawa-based litigation firms until he founded “Cavanagh Litigation Counsel” in July, 2001. He then joined forces with Heather Williams, to form “Cavanagh Williams” in March, 2002. In 2009, the firm expanded to become "Cavanagh Williams Conway Baxter LLP".

Steve’s litigation practice focuses on professional liability claims, insurance and commercial litigation. He is often called upon by clients to provide opinions on insurance coverage and liability issues. He has advised a number of law firms with respect to potential and actual liability issues facing them.

In addition, Steve has acted as a mediator and as an arbitrator in various types of civil disputes, principally in the areas of insurance and commercial law.
