Susanne Sviergula

Originally from St. Catharines, Susanne moved to Ottawa in 1990 to study criminology at the University of Ottawa, where she became a competitive rower. After obtaining her Honours Bachelor of Social Science (cum laude), Susanne moved to Japan where she taught English for two years on the JET Programme.

Susanne returned to Canada in 1996 to begin law school at the University of Windsor. During her final year, she was the Resource Director of Community Legal Aid.

Prior to joining Cavanagh Williams, Susanne practised civil litigation with a well-known Ottawa firm, focusing on plaintiff and defence personal injury, as well as employment law. Her current practice includes personal injury, professional liability, property and casualty insurance and employment law.

Susanne is an avid participant in Continuing Legal Education courses and has been both a speaker and moderator for the Ontario Bar Association and the Montebello Civil Litigation conference. She has been a member of the executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s Young Lawyers’ Division (Ottawa) and is a current member of the Montebello Planning Committee.

Interests
